Hi! I'm Samuel.
Throughout my life, I've been interested in games from all aspects: playing them, studying them, and making them. What fascinates me about games is how they connect us, regardless of their size, genre, number of players, budget, or any other categorization. We all share a common desire to play games.
This fascination led me down the rabbit hole of game development. I wanted to be the one not only experiencing this wonderful phenomenon but also creating new experiences for myself, my friends, and the world.
My programming curiosity arose from the necessity of it for a game to exist. Programming is the core pillar that holds all the parts of a game together.
It all began at an early age, defining my educational path. I started experimenting with game code when I was just 13 years old. I attended a high school that focused on introducing game development. After high school, I initially worked in another field but eventually found my way back to game development.
I achieved a bachelor's degree in media technology with a focus on game design and scripting. Although my internship during my bachelor's education at Action Squad Studios didn't lead to immediate employment, I remained determined to become a game programmer and applied to the Future Games programming education.
The Future Games education provided me with valuable skills as a game programmer and opened doors to the Stockholm game development network. After a year at Future Games education, Action Squad Studios approached me with a job opening, and that's where I dropped out of Future Games and my professional career began. I have no plans to stop pursuing my passion in this industry. I love the people, the work, the challenge, and, of course, the games.
In my free time, I enjoy the process of creating, whether it's with my hands or my keyboard. I have numerous hobbies, including boats, cars, fishing, photography, 3D printing, pixel art, and writing—the list seems to go on forever.
If you're interested in hearing what others think of me and what it's like to work with me, head over to my LinkedIn profile, where I have kind words from the people I've had the privilege to meet and work with along the way.
